Happy New Year!

2018 was a momentous year for Maru/Blue in our first year of our new journey. We would like to say thank you for your support and partnership and to share an update about the great progress that we have made.

This past year we:

Launched Maru/Blue, premium quality data services firm

Formerly part of Maru/Matchbox, Maru/Blue is focused on providing access to deeply engaged, well-curated respondents who feed-back actionable insights to businesses and brands. The quality of these responses subsequently enables clients to make better-informed decisions about their business strategies.

Blue evokes the limitless possibilities of the open sky, the depths of the ocean, and the purity of a blue flame. This suits our sample and data services offer perfectly because Maru/Blue makes it easy to connect with an almost limitless number of deeply profiled community members, whose consistency and quality is proven.  

Maru Springboard America is the #1 online quality sample source, again, according to Nate Silver

Nate Silver’s FiveThirtyEight website aggregates election polls and makes predictions based on those aggregations. As part of their process, they weight the polls based on their accuracy. Their assessment is based on an analysis over 8,500 polls from the final 21 days of gubernatorial and congressional elections since 1998, and presidential primaries and general elections since 2000.

The polls run on our Maru Springboard America market community had the highest “Elections Correctly Called” and the lowest “Difference from Actual” among those online sources that had covered ten or more elections. We were also #1 in both categories in the last analysis the FiveThirtyEight published, in 2016. This accuracy is consistent with our own ongoing analysis of how boringly reliable our market communities are.

Announced the launch of our exclusive Qualitative and Cannabis communities to increases our presence in the B2B space

Members of our Qualitative community have been invited to join after they have been determined to be very articulate, engaged, and actively interested in participating in qualitative research exercises.

Cannabis Community members from across the U.S. and Canada have been extensively profiled on their cannabis consumption and consumption intentions. Additionally, they are profiled on how they consume and wish to consume, including smoking, vaping, edibles and beverages.

Because members have been pre-screened, they are immediately accessible for in-depth discussions. The communities enable companies to seamlessly incorporate the voice of the customer in ongoing conversations and explorations.

Acquired Hispanic panel Tú Cuentas

Founded in 2010, Tú Cuentas is a Hispanic market research panel with over 15,000 registered members in the U.S. The proprietary online research platform targets Hispanic communities and gathers insights from both open community discussions and private market research online communities. This acquisition provides our clients with access to high-quality known respondents from a deeply-engaged Hispanic community.

Expanded into the UK market and launched online market research panel, Maru Voice UK

Through the appointment of Paul Williams, based in Southampton, Paul oversees the development of Maru/Blue’s UK operations as Managing Director. Paul brings over 30 years’ experience in the market research industry, having held a number of senior positions during his career.

Maru Voice UK is a global expansion of the Maru/Blue online market research panels, joining Maru Voice Canada and Maru Springboard America, (launched in 2006 and 2009, Canada's and the United State’s leading online market research panels). Maru Voice UK will now provide people in the UK with the opportunity to voice their opinions on a variety of topics and issues.

Launched Agile Self-Serve

Agile Self-Serve, a DIY, real-time survey solution, provides thousands of completes within hours across Canada, the U.S. or the U.K. It delivers easy out of the box programming, programmatic sampling, instant deployment and automated reporting with longitudinal tracking.

Agile Self-Serve offers an intuitive reporting dashboard, video and photo content upload capabilities, and clients can target respondents by region, gender or age. Accounts are free with no subscription required and sample is charged on a project by project basis.

Expanded our team across the globe to recruit the best and brightest talent in the industry

In addition to Paul Williams, who manages our UK operations, we hired Chief Operations Officer, Julie Paul; seasoned research professional, Mellissa Hill; agency expert, Katie Gawlik; and expanded our business development team with the addition of Sal Rustom, Terry Kim, Deborah Horrocks, and Izzy Nurdin.

Our operations team continues to support our growth with new hires every month.

Migrated our panels to our state-of-the-art proprietary panel platform, HUB

HUB is our globally scalable ecosystem offering multi-mode data collection, analysis and reporting in one unified solution. HUB provides our panels with a solid technical foundation and an expanded, rich feature set. As a result, we can provide our clients with the most current and greatest breadth of technical research tools allowing for the deepest insights possible, including best-in-class survey analytics and reporting.
